 | Mehmet Kucukozer Doctoral Candidate The Graduate Center, CUNY Seminar Mehmet Kucukozer is a doctoral candidate in sociology and is currently writing his dissertation titled, "Peasant Revolts in the Age of Globalization: The EZLN in Mexico and the PKK in Turkey." This work, which takes a comparative-historical-analysis approach, explores peasant-based rebellions in the post-1980 period of "neoliberal" structural reforms in developing countries, and in determining the relationship, if any, of these reforms and how people in marginalized rural areas come to join revolutionary movements. |
