Jill Lepore is the David Woods Kemper '41 Professor of American History at Harvard University, where she serves as chair of the History and Literature Program.  She is also a regular contributor to The New Yorker.  She is the author of The Name of War, winner of the Bancroft Prize; Encounters in Early America; A is for American; New York Burning, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize; and Blindspot, a fake eighteenth-century novel written jointly with Jane Kamensky. She is currently writing a biography of Benjamin Franklin and his sister, Jane Mecom.
