![]() | Pankaj Mishra Novelist and Essayist Seminar Pankaj Mishra is an essayist and novelist. His first novel, The Romantics, won the 2000 Los Angeles Times’ Art Seidenbaum Award for first fiction, and his second novel, An End to Suffering: The Buddha of the World, was New York Times Notable Book for the year 2004. In 2006, Mr. Mishra published Temptations of the West: How to be Modern in India, Pakistan and Beyond, which was also a New York Times Notable Book of the year. Mishra frequently contributes literary and political essays for The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, The Guardian, and the New Statesman. His work has also appeared in the London Review of Books, Times Literary Supplement, Financial Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Time, Granta, The Nation, N+1, Poetry, The New Yorker, Harper's and numerous other publications. |
